Peer Review Process
The peer review process for journal submissions typically involves several structured steps. While specific procedures may vary, the following are the general stages involved in JTRIK:
- Submission: Authors submit their manuscripts to the journal, typically through the online submission system (OJS). The submission includes the research paper, supplementary materials, and a cover letter explaining the significance of the study.
- Editorial Desk Review: Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to assess whether the manuscript aligns with the journal's scope and guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet the basic requirements may be rejected at this stage (Desk Rejection).
- Editor-in-Chief Assessment: The Editor-in-Chief (EiC) holds a crucial leadership role, overseeing the entire editorial process, maintaining quality and integrity, and providing strategic direction. Key responsibilities include:
- Content Selection: Deciding which manuscripts are suitable for the journal's objectives.
- Peer Review Management: Ensuring manuscripts undergo rigorous and impartial review by experts.
- Editorial Board Management: Forming and managing a team of Associate Editors and Reviewers.
- Reviewer Assignment: If the manuscript passes the initial screening, the editor assigns peer reviewers. These reviewers are subject-matter experts, typically researchers or academics. JTRIK generally assigns two or more reviewers per manuscript.
- Peer Review: Selected reviewers evaluate the manuscript's research quality, methodology, analysis, and conclusions. JTRIK employs a Double-Blind Peer Review process, meaning both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other.
- Author Revision: Based on the reviewers' feedback, authors are required to revise their manuscript, addressing comments and making necessary improvements.
- Second Evaluation: After the revised version is submitted, reviewers re-evaluate the manuscript to ensure all concerns have been adequately addressed. They may recommend further revisions if necessary.
- Editorial Decision: The Editor reviews the manuscript, reviewer comments, and the author's responses to make a final decision:
- Accept: The manuscript is accepted for publication.
- Minor Revision: Small changes are required before final acceptance.
- Major Revision: Significant revisions and a new round of review are required.
- Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication in this journal.
- Revision and Resubmission: Authors implement the required changes and resubmit. This stage may involve multiple rounds of revision.
- Final Acceptance: Once the editor is satisfied with the manuscript's quality, it is officially accepted.
- Copyediting and Production: Accepted manuscripts undergo formatting and copyediting to meet the journal's standards. Authors will be involved in proofreading for accuracy.
- Publication: The manuscript is published online (and/or in print), assigned a publication date, and added to the journal’s archives.
Note: The peer review process can take several months depending on the complexity of the revisions and the responsiveness of authors and reviewers. JTRIK is committed to transparency and maintaining high scholarly standards throughout this process.
Publication Frequency
This journal is published twice a year (biannually), specifically in March and September.
