Application of Internet of Things (IoT) Technology in a Web-Based Fish Storage Room Temperature Monitoring System (Case Study: TPI Pusong – Lhokseumawe)

Abstract


TPI (Fish Shelter) Pusong – Lhokseumawe, the largest fish auction site in Lhokseumawe, functions as an important center for fish traders, facilitating sea and freshwater fish transactions from 05:30 to 10:00 WIB. Maintaining fish freshness is very important because this commodity is easily damaged and requires quick and careful handling to maintain quality and maximize market value. In the cooling process using block ice where the required temperature is in the range of 2°C to 8°C, where the fish is stored in a fish storage container in the form of fiber. Currently, checking the temperature inside the fiber still uses the manual method, namely by inserting your hand into the fiber to see whether the temperature inside the fiber is still cold or not. Therefore, it is absolutely impossible for fish entrepreneurs to check the cold temperature of fish using their hands. Based on the problems that have been described, temperature monitoring is offered using Internet of Things (IoT) technology at TPI Pusong-Lhokseumawe, which uses ESP 32 and a DS18B20 temperature sensor, namely to monitor temperature conditions in the fiber in real-time using a temperature monitoring website application. This system can also display the temperature and information about each fiber owned by fish entrepreneurs at TPI Pusong-Lhokseumawe.
