Market Basket Analysis Using Apriori and CMAR Algorithms at Baiturrahman Mart

Abstract


Technological developments have brought significant changes to the business world, making sales strategy a crucial element for achieving business goals. Baiturrahman Mart in Lhokseumawe City, which is managed by the Mosque Prosperity Agency (BKM), faces challenges in understanding customer purchasing patterns and identifying relationships between products that are often purchased together. Currently, marts still rely on manual observation and simple data analysis. To increase the effectiveness of sales strategies, the Apriori algorithm is applied to find association rules between products, while the CMAR (Classification based on Multiple Association Rules) algorithm is used to classify products based on purchasing patterns. The research results show that the system implemented succeeded in identifying strong relationships between products, such as "SUGAR 1 KILOGRAM" and "SUNCO REFF 2LTR," which are often purchased together. It is hoped that this approach can help marts optimize sales strategies and provide benefits to the surrounding community.
