Abstract

Healthy food is key to maintaining good health and reducing the risk of serious illness, especially for people with cholesterol. Unbalanced cholesterol can increase the risk of cardiovascular disease, so proper food selection is very important. A web-based healthy food recommendation system and Android application were developed to help people with cholesterol choose foods that are suitable for their health conditions. The system uses Laravel for web development and Flutter for Android application, and includes several main pages such as login, admin dashboard, criteria data, alternative data, and patient data. Admins have the right to manage criteria data, food alternatives, and patient data, while patients can register, fill out a profile, and receive customized food recommendations. The Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS) method is applied to determine the most suitable food based on criteria such as calories, cholesterol, unsaturated fat, fiber, and protein. The system uses 25 alternative data covering various food menus. The ranking process is done by normalizing and calculating the weights of each criterion to produce optimal food recommendations. Black box testing is conducted to verify whether the system functionality works as it should. Based on the results of questionnaire testing conducted on 15 respondents, the average score is 4.14 on a scale of 5. These results can help cholesterol sufferers choose foods that not only meet nutritional needs but also comply with health restrictions.
