Kinerja pahat karbida berlapis titanium Aluminium Nitrida (TiAlN) pada pembubutan kering baja ASTM A 29 grade 1038

The use of coated carbide-based cutting tools (WC + Co) dominates in the metal cutting industry. From the results of previous studies that layered carbide chisels have better toughness when compared to carbide chisels that are not coated with a coating material. The coating material is very influential in the performance of cutting tools which during the cutting process takes place the coating material can function as a solid lubricant that can reduce the cutting temperature. The purpose of this study was to determine the age of using Titanium Aluminum Nitride (TiAlN) carbide chisels with DCGX T3 1105-AL type by varying the cutting speed (Vc) of 70, 110, and 250 m / min, while feed motion (f) = 0, 1 mm / rotation and cutting depth (a) 1.5 mm are fixed variables for the three cutting speeds that are varied. The cutting process uses a dry turning process with ASTM A 29 medium steel material. The results show the cutting process with Vc = 70 m / min, the cutting time (tc) 6.82 minutes there was a significant increase in tool wear (Vb) which reached 0.04 mm at 0.8 minutes, then in the turning process there was no sudden wear before 6 minutes with large side wear (Vb) of 0.06 at 6.82 minutes. In cutting using Vc = 110 m / min, tc 8.22 minutes there was a significant increase in Vb which reached 0.05 mm at 0.46 minutes, then in the process of turning there was a sudden wear at 6 minutes with large side wear (Vb) 0.13 at 8.22 minutes. On cutting using Vc = 250 m / min, tc 8.22 minutes there was a significant increase in Vb which reached 0.06 mm at 0.24 minutes, then in the process of turning there was a sudden wear at 6 minutes with large side wear (Vb) 0.18 at 6.20 minutes.
